Adult Ministry
Our Purpose
The Adult Ministry at Grace Community Church exists to help adults take their next step in their spiritual journey. We believe that genuine spiritual growth happens best in the context of authentic relationships centered on God’s Word and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Pathways for Growth
Sunday Morning Options
Our Sunday morning gatherings provide several options for adults to grow in their faith:
- Worship Services (9:00 AM and 11:00 AM)
- Adult Sunday School Classes (9:00 AM)
- Foundations – For those new to faith or wanting to strengthen basic biblical understanding
- Biblical Studies – In-depth study of specific books of the Bible
- Contemporary Issues – Applying biblical wisdom to current cultural challenges
- Family Life – Addressing marriage, parenting, and other family dynamics
Small Groups
Small groups are the heart of our adult ministry. These groups of 8-12 people meet regularly in homes to:
- Study Scripture together
- Build authentic relationships
- Pray for one another
- Serve together in the church and community
Types of Small Groups:
- Life Groups – Mixed groups focused on Bible study and community
- Men’s Groups – Providing biblical fellowship and accountability for men
- Women’s Groups – Creating space for women to grow and connect
- Young Adult Groups – For adults in their 20s and early 30s
- Senior Adult Groups – Fellowship and study for our 65+ community
- Interest-Based Groups – Groups organized around shared interests (e.g., running, cooking, hiking)
Meeting Schedule: Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly, with most meeting on weekday evenings. Some daytime options are available for seniors and parents of young children.
Bible Studies
We offer several structured Bible study options throughout the year:
- Women’s Bible Studies – Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings
- Men’s Bible Studies – Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings
- Precept Bible Studies – In-depth inductive study
- Financial Peace University – Biblical financial stewardship
- Marriage Enrichment – Building stronger marriages on biblical principles
Special Events and Retreats
Throughout the year, we host special events and retreats to foster deeper spiritual growth and community:
- Men’s Retreat (Spring)
- Women’s Retreat (Fall)
- Marriage Conference (February)
- Senior Adults Day Trips (Quarterly)
- Young Adult Weekend (Summer)
Life Stage Ministries
Young Adults (20s-30s)
Our Young Adult Ministry creates community for adults navigating the unique challenges of early adulthood—career development, dating/marriage, and establishing adult faith identity.
Marriage Ministry
Supporting couples in all stages of marriage through mentoring, enrichment classes, and special events designed to strengthen marriages.
Parents
Resources, support groups, and classes for parents of children and teenagers, focusing on raising children with a biblical foundation.
Empty Nesters
Community and purpose for adults navigating life after children have left home.
Senior Adults
Fellowship, spiritual growth, and service opportunities for our 65+ community, including specialized Bible studies, social events, and outreach.
Serving Opportunities
We believe that serving is an essential part of spiritual growth. Adult Ministry participants can serve in various ways:
- Small Group Leaders – Facilitate discussion and shepherd a group
- Hospitality Team – Welcome and connect new people
- Prayer Team – Participate in the church prayer ministry
- Event Planning – Help organize retreats and special events
- Administrative Support – Assist with coordination and communication
Leadership Development
For those feeling called to leadership, we offer development through:
- Leadership Training – Regular equipping sessions
- Mentoring Relationships – One-on-one guidance from experienced leaders
- Ministry Internships – Hands-on ministry experience
